Hope you are going great! Sharing something different but tremendously important, which we always overlook & after passage of precious years of our life we regret a lot.
The 5 balls of life is a short sharing by Coca-Cola’s former CEO Brian Dyson (1986-1991) about importance of work life balance. In his short speech Dyson shared his view the priorities in life using the metaphor of juggling 5 balls.
He calls the balls Work, Family, Friends, Health and Spirit.
His Perspective In His Words-
Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air. You name them work, family, health, friends and spirit. And you’re keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls – family, health, friends and spirit – are made of glass. If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same. You must understand that and strive for balance in your life.

My view- I completely agree to this point. I heard about this speech in 2009. I think -We spend too much time, too much energy, too much of our years on the work. While we are over focusing on the work we completely ignore the rest of life about our family, our health, friends. We completely forget about Work-life balance. We feel like we would catch up later, may be few years later I would relax & spend time with my family but are you certain about next year ? may be you would not be there tomorrow? Who knows? why postponing the things for next year? Over a years when someone loses his health, friends, family & love. He comes across the stage where he still has lot of work to do, He has lot of money in his bank but he doesn’t have a loved one along with him to spend some time, to experience the life. With all the money, all luxury, all prestige & materialistic achievements he still feels empty from within. With everything at it feet his hands are still empty & his soul is filled with regret. He can buy everything but not the time which he spent on his office desk, under his laptop. He earned everything but he missed the important thing – i.e experiencing the life. In the race of life He outran everyone, including his family. He forgot How to live the Life! He cannot bring those years back which he could have spent with his partner, time he could have invested in his kids & friends. He has nothing but the regret. He did not live like Human being but he lived like a vending Machine! So, its your time to think over it before you lose any of the 4 balls.
